Venice Vase

The Venice Biennale, Luxembourg representative--Artist, Mike Bourscheid-- needed a vase/helmet as one of the components for his opening night performance "Thank you so much for the flowers". Although his plan had been to make the vase himself, after a time of throwing and glazing the rest of the vases for his project he found the large size was a bit tricky. So he asked me if I could try it out. . . . and he needed it in 2 weeks to make the shipping deadline. Ha!

Here we have the two part vase/helmet in use. Thanks for including me in this great project Mike!

Planter/Plant

In case you couldn't tell, it's spring! "What!?" you may say-- "You're crazy! I could see my breath in the freezing air just this morning!" It's true, it's spring, and to prove it I was activiely participating in a springy planter and plant sale at The Federal Store (2601 Quebec st) this past Saturday May.13 (soooory for the late notice).   It was a hopping event and I got a lot of positive feedback on the planters I had there. I will be busy making more ASAP so look for them at Neighborhood Quality Goods and Good Omen, as well as at my studio if you want o make an appointment and stop by.

Below some pics for your review.

Where to find it

If you're looking to find something of mine out there in the ether, look no further! Starting last fall I've joined with two stockists here in the Vancouver area. Neighborhood Quality Goods on Main st. And Good Omen in New Westminster. They will be pushing my mugs, bowls, plates, small faceted dishes, and planters. You can still place orders through me for anything you'd like, or come to visit me at the studio and see what I've got in stock on my shelves.

And here is the start of a new plan I have to make fermentation crocks! This is the kind with the water moat and it's on the small side, perfect for those of you who don't have a lot of space to store things (like me). I'll be making them in 2 liter, 4 liter and 8 liter sizes.
