Where to find it

If you're looking to find something of mine out there in the ether, look no further! Starting last fall I've joined with two stockists here in the Vancouver area. Neighborhood Quality Goods on Main st. And Good Omen in New Westminster. They will be pushing my mugs, bowls, plates, small faceted dishes, and planters. You can still place orders through me for anything you'd like, or come to visit me at the studio and see what I've got in stock on my shelves.

And here is the start of a new plan I have to make fermentation crocks! This is the kind with the water moat and it's on the small side, perfect for those of you who don't have a lot of space to store things (like me). I'll be making them in 2 liter, 4 liter and 8 liter sizes.

May 2016

I've been inspired to experiment with inlay. I'm trying repetition as a theme, as well as mixing in some pigments. I'm drawn to airport carpet patterns because of their geometric shapes and busy patterns. There is an optical illusion effect I am trying to go for as well.  I think this would be an interesting technique to try out on the light shades. We'll see what happens. I plan to do some tiles with the samples below. Here they are pre-fire. You get the idea but, once they are fired you will see the true colours and textures a bit better.

I will cut this into triangle tiles.

This will also be cut into tiles. You can see the inlay as well as the impression made by a gridded fabric that I collected a while ago.

Agate/marbling trial also. The colours will be more muted once fired--sandy and white.
